Pros

Benefits and the people I support

Cons

1. Reporting to a manager and not the person I support 2. Executives have no idea how little I get paid. 3. Going from contractor to permanent employee, had to take a $5K pay cut 4. Managers of the assistants have their favorites 5. Being an EA is a band five and you’ll never get past it. 6. Tons of turnover in the admin positions, 90% due to pay and management has no idea why people are leaving.

Pros

Interesting work, good benefits, talented colleagues

Cons

Terrible manager behavior, terrible work-life balance, with no recourse or support for employees. I joined and quickly found that the ED I reported to had no experience in the area he oversaw, would not listen to anyone who had experience, was mean to his team members, and set wildly unrealistic expectations without any clear direction or consistency. Bullying, meanness and pointless criticism were the norm, while leadership was completely lacking. And if you work on the Digital Transformation team, expect to spend from 8PM-11PM at night and early morning on calls, with little regard for sleep or work-life balance. The worst part was finding out that the HR team was already well aware of all these problems with my ED (the two other managers under him quit), and the leadership team had no intention of making any changes. So disappointing.
