They provide benefits for full time and discounts (even though the markup is ridiculous). That’s really all of the pros.
Cons
Incompetent managers who have no business running a retail store. My manager is the reason my full staff quit due to his, “do as i say, not as i do” mentality. He did not lead, but viewed his staff as competition who were never allowed to outperform him. No praise was given, just jabs. “You only outsold me because I rang transactions under you.” He changed schedules without notice and lied when confronted with proof. He created conflict among his team due to his jealousy and then gaslighted the team to make himself feel better. He mocked my taking precautions during the pandemic, even taking his mask off and coughing on me. He tried to create his own “corporate” policies but became angry when questioned. He also did not look at time off requests and said they weren’t put in instead of acknowledging that he overlooked them. Constantly complained about it not being fair that he had to “work all the time” although he was salaried. Gossiped to other stores about his team and shared private issues with our team regarding other associates. Complaining to upper management didn’t help. Truly the worst manager and work environment I’ve ever experienced.
