Pros
The consultants who provide medicolegal services to workers are among the best people I've ever worked with. Clever, compassionate and kind to everyone, it was a real pleasure to work with them. There is a high level of attention given to excellence and detail which I enjoyed. I was very proud of the work I completed.
Cons
The culture is extremely top down and all staff were micromanaged to the point everyone leaves after a few months, despite the interesting work we were doing. The MD does not think about her behaviour and how it contributes to a revolving door of staff and a constant recruiting process. We were shouted at, ridiculed and forced to stand up and open the door for her every time she entered the reception, even if she was just using the bathroom. If you don't, you are yelled at. Overtime is not negotiated, it is just put on full time members of staff to complete. There is a constant micro management of even the most simple of tasks to the point I spent more time on the management of my tasks than actually doing them. One of the most toxic environments I have ever worked in. The worst was interviewing potential staff members and feeling torn between the need to hire staff to help and not wanting to wreck someone's life by dragging them into a place we are all trying to leave. And then having to hear the MD describe the candidates' physical appearance or cultural background in negative ways.
