A Solid Effort - Therapist LifeStance Health Employee Review

Pros

My practice is full. 30+ clients per week and more could be an option. I get to work with many more types of people across the stage of life spectrum than I might otherwise have done in private practice. Not having to market myself or worry much about overhead is great. They reimbursed me for my license renewal which was nice of them!

Cons

The caseloads are high, and the demand is constant so empty spots are filled quickly and unless you ask for time off it is harder to get it. They make an effort to have daily consultation "phone (video) calls" but cutting into one's lunch hour for a brief consultation is not always that helpful. It is not obvious that you can decline to take the clients that are provided to you (other than deciding one is not a match for ethical reasons, or training/experience).

Pros

Incredible place to work to build experience, receive supervision while supporting a diverse client population. Extremely flexible hours, opportunity to either work from home or in office with administrative staff. Truly caring, intentional, experienced regional leaders that are open to feedback and value their employees.

Cons

Working in mental health in a publicly held corporation has its conflicts of interest. No paid vacation time for FT employees which is counterintuitive to the work we do as trauma informed providers. No paid training. Profitability and bottom-line results for shareholders should not be reason to think of long term needs and burnout potential of providers.
