Pros

Good with getting patients in the door. As a provider, you will be on your own after that.

Cons

Lack of administrative support. Disorganized and poor communication. Ambiguous pay structure. Poor billing support. Providers will see a client with insurance that is supposedly verified. After the visit, the insurance is found to be non billable. The provider is paid nothing for this. Admin staff continue to book visits with clients with outstanding balances above $1,000.00; some clients have paid zero toward the bill. I had self pay clients that I saw for a year that did not pay a cent for care. The provider is not paid for this. The provider does not have access to this information without requesting a report. The office internet was down most days making it almost impossible to see clients via tele health or to chart in the visit. I had to take notes on paper and input them later. The tele health app was down frequently most days. There is no presence in the lobby several days out of the week. Clients are confused and do not know what to do when they arrive. Clients are billed huge fees erroneously without any resolution from the company. The provider will need to get involved to assist the client. Client visits are sometimes cancelled due to lack of consent paperwork being completed and are not notified or are not responded to in the portal. Clients are scheduled for visits they did not make and then are sent a bill for no show. The provider must get involved with excessive administrative tasks. As a provider, you will do everything with limited assistance and not be paid for your work.

Pros

Incredible place to work to build experience, receive supervision while supporting a diverse client population. Extremely flexible hours, opportunity to either work from home or in office with administrative staff. Truly caring, intentional, experienced regional leaders that are open to feedback and value their employees.

Cons

Working in mental health in a publicly held corporation has its conflicts of interest. No paid vacation time for FT employees which is counterintuitive to the work we do as trauma informed providers. No paid training. Profitability and bottom-line results for shareholders should not be reason to think of long term needs and burnout potential of providers.
