Boys club - Advocate Liontrust Asset Management Employee Review

Pros

Most of my colleagues are very nice people. The work is interesting. There is a potential to become a really big, great company, and the management want that. The strategic vision is clear.

Cons

It's an old-school boys club. Women are not taken seriously. The senior management realise diversity and inclusion are important, but don't really buy in to it or seem to actually want to change. If you are not in the inner 'boozy lunches' club your career progression feels limited, and it feels like this 'club' is limited to men.

Pros

Liontrust are a great company to work for. In the often trick segment of financial services, they look after clients, shareholders and employees in equal measure. With a clear strategy to be a market leader there are plenty of opportunities for stretch roles and projects and young investment talent is able to move to where it is best suited.

Cons

None really. The office location is great even if the condition is reflective of its last refurb but with flexible working this is less of an issue than it was.

Pros

Flexible working Mostly nice colleagues Good place to retire

Cons

Rife with favouritism Zero progression and learning A lot of deception during interview stage regarding opportunities and compensation Prepare to feel like a second class disposable citizen when dealing with senior staff Obsession with AI adoption so that 'overheads' (i.e. back office staff) can be slashed Dated premises - lift, toilets, aricon eveything is constantly being repaired Low compensation
