Pros

Have been with the company for over two years. I love the people that I work alongside and my role. Everyday is different and not once have I felt I have not been supported. It is true that at MCFT there are high expectations. Don't join if you are just along for the ride. You will be expected to work and contribute but it is a company where if you do that, you can really make a difference and impact change. You will not just be a number. Great opportunities as well within the business to work in other territories and also training for those that are wanting development.

Cons

For me there have not been any; for others the 8 am start may not be desirable, but expect they will like the 4pm finish on a Friday.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We recognise that MCFT is an ambitious, high-performance organisation - this is matched with fairness, structure and supportive leadership. We do understand that our level of pace and accountability is not for everyone. We are proud of the support structures available across the business, including our structured onboarding process, regular performance reviews and leadership development programmes. Our CEO also takes a personal interest in the development of our people and personally inducts new employees into the business - ensuring that all who join the company are aware of our history, our mission and values and of course expectations. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to listening to feedback and improving the experience of our colleagues across the business. Sally Connolly - Head of HR

Pros

- You will likely develop quickly due to being thrown into high-pressure situations but this is driven by personal resilience, not structured support. - Most colleagues aim to support each other and make day-to-day life more manageable, but many are also overwhelmed by unrealistic workloads. - Everyone leaves at 5pm and you aren't encouraged to stay, shift is 8-5 though instead of standard 9-5.

Cons

- High performers are rewarded with additional responsibilities, not compensation, advancement or even acknowledgement. - Exceeding expectations results in being perceived as having excess capacity, not value. - Salary for office staff is significantly below market standards considering the scope of responsibilities. - The IT system Phoenix is outdated, unreliable and painfully slow. Despite repeated reports, no permanent fixes are made, reducing daily productivity by a significant margin. - Senior leadership exhibits erratic and at times aggressive behaviour, including physical outbursts. While there may be charitable intentions towards external companies operating for the greater good, internal mistakes and missed (often unrealistic) targets are viewed as personal attacks, creating a tense environment and a fear culture as you cannot always be truly honest about operational challenges as it will put you at risk of an outburst, regardless of if it is your fault or not. - There is a clear disconnect between senior leadership and day to day operations. Poor strategic decisions and a lack of understanding of team needs are common. - Advancements are heavily influenced by internal politics. The merit of your work is rarely considered in your progression. - Staff turnover is extremely high. Jokes about long term employees being anomalies are common and reflect a severe cultural problem.

Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback. MCFT is an ambitious, high-performance organisation, and with growth comes pressure. However, high standards must always sit alongside professionalism and respect. We do not condone aggressive behaviour or a culture of fear — those standards apply consistently across all levels of leadership. Performance and accountability are central to our culture, but they must be matched with fairness, structure and strong leadership. Over the past year we have developed and are delivering clear progression frameworks, ongoing training programmes – created due to staff demand and have invested in leadership development. As an organisation we regularly conduct salary benchmarking for our roles – both office and field, to ensure our offer proposition is competitive, not only salary but also benefits. Recognition structures continue to evolve as we scale. We are committed to upgrading internal systems to improve operational efficiency. As with any business we are constantly looking at our culture and retention, for ways to improve on this – including constant feedback process as we understand the employee voice is so crucial.
