Pros

The core business at ME does well on the backs of giants like Walmart

Cons

Unfortunately, due to this conditional success - the thought is they can tackle any other type of business with the same, misplaced mentality/confidence. This place is an old school company. (As an example, no one knew what Glassdoor was and upon discovery, they scrambled and “asked” their favorite employees to write favorable reviews. So be wary of early/mid 2019, super rosey reviews for a truer sense of the place.) As attempts to be dynamic collide with the old school nature of the company, the execution, labor, ill-informed directional decisions, do-it-at-all-costs and do it today type efforts fall on the bulk of the company’s workers. The concept of 360 feedback is not a term used there, and the only information the owners receive is from the C-Suite or VP level — all folks telling them everything is great, as fires roar behind them, for fear of their jobs. Dishonesty and behaving like a bully is valued, while honesty and being hardworking will truly screw you over there. There have been some solid new hires and some long term employees that are trying to inject the place with good energy and concepts from this decade, but their voices are deafened by the constant operational turmoil, cutthroat nature of the company, and erratic decisions being made via the company’s attempts to be “dynamic”.

Pros

I have been with the company for 5 years now and have had a really positive experience overall. Under the current CEO, leadership is really supportive, I have a great Legal manager, and the work I do feels meaningful. I’ve gained a lot of valuable, transferable experience working on complex issues and have continued to grow professionally. I’ve learned a lot both working with my boss and through the work I’ve been assigned. The overall team culture is respectful and professional, and it’s great being surrounded by hardworking, collaborative, smart people who are always willing to go the extra mile and help out!

Cons

Communication and cross-functional access to information could sometimes be more streamlined.

Pros

Interesting and structured processes fast paced

Cons

Favoritism was a major issue, with job security and advancement often based on relationships rather than performance. Leadership lacked accountability, and quality standards were inconsistent—management would bypass failed products while holding meetings about poor quality and customer complaints. Communication from higher-ups was mostly negative and often the only time they engaged with employees. Concerns raised by staff frequently led to negative treatment instead of resolution, including supervisors berating and even bullying employees for things unrelated to work. Overall, the work environment was filled with unnecessary drama.
