Pros

Free Breakfast Fridays, Casual Dress, I met some really cool people working there.

Cons

They pay extremely low well below the market rate, they hire people with very little to no experience to justify their low wages but the expectations are not entry level. You will be given a case load that is impossible to manage even the experienced paralegals were drowning in their files. Management is completely unaware how terrible things are and how their team is mostly miserable they don't understand why they have such a high turnover rate. Clients were always frustrated because we were not producing our files up to speed when in reality we were so overworked 10 - 11hour days wouldn't even get you up to speed. You will get some training but it will only cover the basics there are multiple systems to adapt too. This is the most unorganized firm i have ever worked for. The trainers think they are above you when in reality they hold the same title as you and will hound you to keep up when in reality they cant either. Some attorneys have a bad attitude because they are overworked as well and will take it out on you the paralegal.

Pros

So grateful to have been employed with MC during this time. We had all been frightened by the news of the pandemic and the California shut down. Management showed concern for all staff’s safety above all other and has worked with us on hybrid or remote schedules for more than a year now. I almost miss the commute!

Cons

Working in the legal field is challenging and takes dedication and a commitment to excellence.

Pros

MC is a great place to gain experience in the legal profession. If you have little to no experience in the legal profession, but you'd like to cut your teeth and learn the ropes, MC is a great place to work. The two owners are personable, family-oriented people. The senior attorneys are adept at their profession, and the support staff is friendly. Breakfast is provided every Friday, and every month a catered lunch is provided to celebrate all birthdays occurring during that month.

Cons

MC actively targets entry-level (assistant) paralegals and recently admitted attorneys, mostly to justify their low hourly rates/salary. Not only does the low pay breed contempt for the "too much work, too little pay" culture, but it serves to have the support staff be little more than a revolving door of new employees (who need to be educated/trained in what to do - remember, these are people who likely have little to no legal experience) replacing the most recently trained batch of employees who got fed up after 9-12 months of lots of work/too little pay with almost no hope of a meaningful pay raise. MC is a volume based law firm, and their business cycle is subject to fluctuations in the foreclosure industry.
