Pros

There are no pros at Mark Spain.

Cons

The overall structure and culture left much to be desired for long-term career development. The commission split is very low, It's 18% of a 3.5% sales price. This significantly limits earning potential. The assigned leads are usually 2 to 3 hours away. This increases time on the road, cuts into productivity, and greatly increases expenses for agents. The model is purely transactional with no regard for the homeowner. The brokerage offers no training or guidance on how to build a book of business or cultivate personal leads. Mark Spain's commission on an agent's SOI transactions and self-generated leads is 50%. The leads provided by Mark Spain are attracted to the Guaranteed Offer, These GO's are so low the homeowners decline. They usually have someone else they will use to list their home. If they list with Mark Spain it's usually overpriced and ends up expiring. I would not recommend Mark Spain for new agents or any agent looking to grow and build a sustainable business.

Pros

Remote work. No other pros.

Cons

Low moral across inside teams. Separation of departments. Lack of transparency on any company changes or policy changes. There is no HR/Employee handbook. Senior leadership is not kind and lacks empathy. (Clicky) Volume is insane. Micro management at its heaviest. It is now a call center. Expect high call volume and no breaks. Job description does not match actual work. Bonus structure is weak. No opportunity for career advancement. If you wanna be underpaid and under appreciated, this is the place for you. This is not a real estate position. It’s a call center and you’re penalized for providing good customer service. The bonus structure is a ratio. Any call over 45 seconds count negatively against you and takes money from your bonus. I wouldn’t recommend this job to my worth enemy.
