Pros
Great campus, initiatives, programs, work flexibility etc.
Cons
They have this beautiful facade mentioned in the PROS, to cover up the ugliness that happens inside. On my first day I was left in the lobby for several hours after my orientation.......I felt so unwanted the very first day. Why did they even hire me? As I waited i felt worthless, unwanted and regretted why I left my previous job to come to this unwelcoming place. Eventually i got up and told security of my situation and then they pinged my manager who was not in the office yet. It was the worst kind of handling and communication I experienced. I wondered how they handle big things when they cannot handle a simple task of welcoming / onboarding a new hire. Well, that was only the beginning of my misery. I have seen teams in India working at 2 am and 3 am. A project may be critical, still doesn't mean someone has to work or collaborate with peers in a different time zone at those ungodly hours on a regular basis. I was just appalled at the work life balance. Who on earth works during those hours on a regular basis? Who would sign up for that? This is one place I have heard the word decency or decency quotient at least once a day. Sad irony is, basic decency is lacking here, hence so much hype around decency. It's fashionable to talk about decency in the industry, nobody really knows or cares what's going on at the grass roots level. Shame on you Mastercard!! Some people managers are plain mean.....I don't know how they become people managers in Mastercard. Some of them don't even have basic ethics, for example- they don't even know how to respond to a conflicting meeting invite. Any decent person will politely decline or propose another convenient time. Instead the boss chose to reply in a mean/ humiliating/ threatening tone. Missouri is a show me state where one of it's office is located. Show me the Decency!!!!
