Pros

The best thing about this place is it's location/proximity to the West Loop. It's a good place to get your feet wet right out of college. Decent intro to learning email marketing, but thats about it. The team has a solid core of good individuals who are nice enough to work with.

Cons

THE FAVORITES. This company is not subtle when it comes to making it known who they like, and who they aren't quite as fond of. There is a total lack of communication and transparency and the environment and morale of the team was at a toxic low when I left. People are not motivated by the culture because there is no real opportunity for promotions or taking on new roles. Instead everyone there is on a professional plateau with no room for advancement. Your workload and responsibilities will continually increase, but there will be zero compensation (or recognition) for your increased efforts...... unless youre one of the favorites, that is. Mistake gets pinned on you regardless of the fact that the company doesnt invest in it's employees, and the upgrades that they need for a better operational system. Account managers dont offer true support to the teams theyre supposed to be looking out for and more often than not are entirely out of the loop as to what is happening in their markets. Upper management lacks the necessary "back bone" needed to stand up for their team and folds anytime an issue comes up with a client. Often times they don't enforce the rules they insist the rest of the employees underneath them tell clients exist. This puts increased pressure on employees to compensate for 100% of the mistakes made by anyone, anywhere anytime - otherwise the blame likely falls on them. You will not be encouraged to learn anything new about the industry, nor earn any certifications that might actually lend some credibility to their employees. There are no benefits, no raises, no opportunities for advancement (until another person quits) and there is no way for employees to express these problems to upper management because these are all issues that stem from the top down.
