Pros

Good exposure to a wide range of surgical procedures

Cons

- There is no formal training, other than online modules from Arthrex. These are good for memorizing some small details about anatomy or products, but don't really provide a solid foundation of knowledge for the job. Your "training" is really just being put in the OR with an experienced rep and watching them work, which may work for some. - Low, non-competitive pay with strange, non-beneficial expense system. You start on a guaranteed amount. When they think you're ready, you can move to commission... even then, it's a shared commission with your team, so individual performance isn't really rewarded. They also don't give you a 401k until you're 1 year in. - Very poor work/life balance. I was regularly away from home from 6:00 am to 6:00 PM - **Important** - Medinc does not show loyalty to employees. Or very little, at least. I was an honest, hard worker. I worked my tail off and committed a ton of time to them... with a toddler at home. That's tough. When I say they don't show loyalty, I mean I made 2 notable mistakes in my 9 months. 2. They weren't small or meaningless mistakes, mind you. They were significant.... but they were mistakes that any and every rep has made. But that's all it took for Medinc to terminate my employment. So disappointing. If you are considering taking a position with Medinc, just know that employees are pretty expendable there. I had this explicitly told to me by several people at facilities when I joined on, but I was happy to be there. If it weren't for the Arthrex name that Medinc sells, I'm not sure if anyone would stay with the company. The pay just doesn't make up for all of the time and effort you have to spend.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not have a good experience working at MedInc. We are always striving to do better and have put a big emphasis on training our employees, which is why we have a dedicated Medical Education Team. They do a great job of in-person and hands-on trainings in addition to the online training that is provided. While working in the medical device industry may require long hours, it can be a highly rewarding job. The work hours are definitely something to consider when getting into the industry. Again, thank you for your feedback.

Pros

Fantastic company to work for with a caring and dedicated upper management group. Their education ladder is fantastic as well and they work hard to set you up with all the tools you need to be successful.

Cons

Only cons I can think of, is starting out the hours can be long, but it is only to benefit you and get you prepared faster to be a better consultant.
