The level of micromanagement I experienced led me to lose confidence in my own professional abilities. Each day at work began to feel punitive rather than productive. It became evident that if one individual within the department formed a negative opinion, that sentiment would quickly permeate the entire team, creating a hostile and unsupportive work environment.
