Pros
The clients appear happy when being seen for consultations.
Cons
- communication within team and with management is extremely lacking -VCAs performing anaesthesias with limited knowledge and training - animals left to recover in kennels on their own without being handed over to relevant ward members - wildlife and exotic care is abysmal, lack of correct husbandry and food. Majority of staff are not aware of how to care for these creatures. - poor hand hygiene, there is one sterilium/hand sanitiser between wards, theatre, prep and isolation. - thrown in with only online induction, no form of training/induction on site for nurses. - management/senior nursing makes decisions without informing the team. - rota changes last minute (often less than 9-10 hours before next shift) and are often not told to relevant people - management do not keep track who is on annual leave or days off. -rotas are almost always wrong. - rota changes are often communicated out of hours - not all nurses revive hand overs, therefore treating animals without knowing what they are presenting for.
