Pros
I was a lowest-level worked (Sachbarbeiter), who recently left the company and took compensation package, which was 100.000 Euros in my case (the lowest possible). Colleagues are mostly nice, good mensa, sometime department events - but totally depends on a department. Good brand after all. The best department to work for IT is in R&D. Amazing work-life balance (at least in Germany). Possibility to work overtime & have extra days off for the overworked hours.
Cons
You do not impact much, a lot of decisions are top-down. Some managers are good - and understand that remote work for ppl who work all the time behind the desk is more than possible. Some do not read statistics and evaluation and insist on working from office. Even the current CEO Ola Kalenius. You only can grow in career if you become a manager. No possibility to grow for a software developer, after achieving certain rank.
