Pros

Coworkers look out for each other “Extracurriculars” if interested (Fire team, Medical team, etc.) Safety is taken seriously Above and beyond what is normally taught to technicians, good experience levels Free gym

Cons

12 hour swing shifts People that should have be disciplined/fired never were Upper management doesn’t know the first thing about the lab If your site is closing Merck blocks all other sites from hiring you so that you have no choice but to stay on the sinking ship or leave the company (They did this to 300 of us) They don’t care about hourly employees Managers never showed up

Pros

Work from home (that may not always be a perk, but it is now for writers), choice of flexible hours (7 AM - 9 AM starting), friendly, helpful people, great bosses, people very interested in their jobs, plus a lot of educational benefits, you are trained on all aspects of Merck and your job.

Cons

I cannot think of any, though sometimes work from home has its drawbacks, because the employee doesn't get all the information that an onsite employee would.
