Pros

People that are on the "front lines" are earnest, driven When working in optimal conditions, accomplishing great things

Cons

Leadership is remote and communication is poor Unfortunate feel of White Saviorism and no proactive training to combat that Unfortunate feel of "bait & switch" - told one thing (i.e. job description & expectations) during hiring process but once arrived found large disparities. ex: recruiting for current location described as "work in beautiful port cities, tropical paradise" - reality is no shore leave Families are encouraged to apply but only "tolerated" once on location; family spaces/cabins often allocated to singles for medical departments b/c they are more important Promotions and job opportunities for people of color are rare
