Pros

Not the same routine every day. Management is down to earth and easily accessible. Flexibility is perfect. Your opinion matters and makes a difference.

Cons

Title doesn’t match position. Badge says one thing but HR system says different. This make a difference when comparing your salary in the market. Pay could be a lot better. Limited room for growth. Training is slim to none. Be prepared to learn on the job.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.
