Great Place to work - Office Manager Methodist Health System Employee Review

Pros

I have worked for Methodist over twenty years. They always encourage growth in the company. I started as a patient representative and was able to work my way up to office manager with the great guidance of many people I have worked with over the years.

Cons

Compensation could be better. Pay does not keep up with the increase of insurance premiums or cost of living. Working with skeleton crews does not allow for people to use their PTO as often as we would like because of lack of coverage.

Pros

Money Insurance Good Boss Good coworkers Enjoyed orientation

Cons

During the orientation, they tell employees that their health is important. As health professionals, our health has to be good so we can take care of our patients and make their health better. However, Methodist Health System makes it extremely hard for an employee if they don’t have enough PTO to be able to get the help they need. So say you don’t have enough PTO but you need a doctors appointment that you have to go to. You’re gonna get a write up and those write ups eventually turn into termination. So where is the grace in the health system? Methodist would be a wonderful place to work if they truly understood their employees are human. I had someone pass away and I couldn’t even go to their funeral because I didn’t have the PTO and couldn’t afford to get a write up. I would’ve loved to have been able to go to my uncle’s funeral. Did anyone care know all you get is sorry for your loss, but you don’t have enough PTO…. So crappy. You’re BEYOND REPLACEABLE and they make sure you know it.
