Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very happy to hear that you’ve had positive interactions with your co-workers and that you feel supported by your team — that kind of collaboration is something we truly value. We also recognize the concerns you’ve raised about organization, patient volume, and the resulting impact on scheduling. We understand how difficult it can be when hours are inconsistent or shifts are canceled, and we know this can affect both professional and personal stability. Our leadership team is working to address these issues by improving communication, streamlining scheduling processes, and pursuing strategies to increase patient flow so that we can offer more dependable hours for our nursing staff. Your feedback helps us better understand where we need to improve, and we appreciate your honesty in sharing it.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
