Pros
Working at Metric has genuinely changed my perspective on what “good” looks like in recruitment and executive search. I’ve worked in several very strong businesses before joining, so I came in with high standards, but Metric operates on a completely different level. What stands out most is the intent behind everything. The business is incredibly performance-driven, but equally invested in development, coaching, process and long-term quality. There’s a real commitment to helping people improve, not just hit numbers. The culture is one of the biggest differentiators. It’s ambitious, high-performing and accountable, but without the ego or politics that often come with recruitment environments. People genuinely want each other to do well. There’s a strong sense of collaboration across the business, and the leadership team sets the tone by staying highly involved, approachable and invested in people’s success. The standards are exceptionally high across leadership, delivery, communication, training and execution, but it never feels toxic or forced. High performance is expected, but people are supported properly to achieve it. That balance is very rare. What impresses me most is how seriously the business takes continuous improvement. Nothing feels static or outdated. There’s a constant focus on evolving, raising the bar and finding better ways to operate, which makes it an incredibly motivating place to work. Without exaggeration, it’s the most impressive recruitment and executive search firm I’ve experienced, and the gap is bigger than I expected before joining.
Cons
The standards and expectations are high, so there’s definitely a learning curve early on. The business moves quickly and is constantly evolving, which means you need to be adaptable and open to feedback. That said, the support, coaching and culture make it a really rewarding environment for anyone who wants to grow and perform at a high level.
