Pros

The ability to meet and interface with new people on a daily basis. Employee Discounts, decent pay for a college student summer job. Made some good friends.

Cons

Constant pressure to make "goal" (quota) for the week, even when its extremely slow a lot of the time. Upper management holds SJ store to same standards as the high earners like Palo Alto and Los Gatos. Simple fact is that not enough people in Willow Glen buy high end bikes to sustain the unreasonable goals set by the CEO/President. Retail Software can be tough to use, and is not at all reliable. Very difficult to move up in the company unless part of the IN crowd. Very small pay increase for an experienced salesperson returning for a second summer. Next to impossible to get Vacation time. Having to work every weekend from 10-6 is ridiculous. The shop never gets a day off, even when the days are super slow. Commission is a joke. 1% for bikes, etc. Way too low, especially for how the hourly pay is. You aren't respected unless you are at least 25 years old, kiss everyones behind, and are a hipster from Marin.

Pros

Good list of brands to get EP deals on. Benefits are actually competitive for the bike industry.

Cons

Consistently hire for roles without posting the job internally, After being bought by PON the company has adopted many practices to stifle employees and limit growth to maximize profits at all costs. It feels like it’s being eaten from the inside out and will soon be a shell of what it once was.
