Pros

- The team is actually great to work with. Team members are easy to get along with. - The location of the office is convenient right at King and Yonge. The office is nice as well.

Cons

- Senior management is hard to work with due to a large ego. - Senior management doesn't trust their employees and micromanages decisions. - Priorities will change out of the blue often because of 'gut feelings' and 'excitement'. This creates a disruptive and stressful environment. It also doesn't give anyone a chance to focus on their work. - The company has great culture and values on paper but they do not live by most of them.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and providing feedback. We value all feedback and are committed to providing the best culture and working environment for our team. At the outset, we are honest and transparent with all potential hires about who we are and what it takes to succeed. We are a small company with large ambitions that attracts entrepreneurial spirits passionate about innovation and motivated by making a direct impact in the lives of our target audience: self-directed investors and financial advisors - to date, of whom we’ve reached on an annual basis 5 million and 200 thousand respectively. If the path forward for us was obvious, it probably wouldn’t be the right growth path, so this creates an exciting culture of openness and dynamism. We hope to continue fostering a culture that allows all team members to be passionate about the work they are doing, and as mentioned in your post, it’s not for everyone.

Pros

- Successful and growing. Unlike other start-ups I'm never worried about losing my job as long as I continue to provide value to the company. The founders have a strong and infectious vision for the company. - Everybody is really friendly and nice. - It's a clock-in-clock-out attitude. I don't feel like I have to be on-call at all times and I can work the hours I want (within reason). - They're extremely organized and work hard on efficiency. - If you're a go-getter who is young, flexible, and adapts well or if you like to put your head down and work really hard all day this is a great place for you. Resourcefulness is one of their core values and that's probably the most valuable skill you can have at this company in my opinion. That means getting to work alongside a bunch of other resourceful people which is great.

Cons

The company is growing too fast for its own good and as a result has a tendency to undervalue its culture/employees by accident. I don't think this is because the people in charge hate their employees or don't care it's just that their focus is so much on their vision for the company that they forget to live in the present and nurture a culture where everybody feels valued and fulfilled. That said- this is typical for a start up. I knew what I was getting into when I signed up and I'm a little shocked that there are people who expected something different.
