Pros

Not many. I was always payed on time and they offered a surprising amount of PTO. Nice flexibility with sick days(although this was mostly a side effect from the fact that no one on the floor was important).

Cons

Too many to list all of them in this review. I will highlight the worst of the worst: - Low/inconsistent pay. Pay rarely seemed to be about actual skill and more about what order you were hired or if the manager took a persona liking to you. - Getting a raise was like pulling teeth. I was told a number of times "We will do reviews in october and will talk about raises then". October of course came and went with no raises or reviews. Employees who worked there before me confirmed it was the same way the year previous. The few people who got raises did so with threats of leaving. - The primary customer essentially runs the company. Mobius games QA was birthed from the primary customer closing the majority of their own QA department and seeking a cheaper option. This caused a frightening number of conflicts of interest as the customer continued to run Mobius QA as though it was still their own department and Mobius tried to establish itself as a real QA house. - Management seemed completely unaware of how to establish and run a QA house. Working in QA for 20 years does not mean you have the knowledge or skill necessary to build a company to rival that of an Experis or Volt. - Disturbingly lax security. This is more of a concern for future customers than it is for employees. Office is ground floor with wide windows next to a well walked path. A single card lock on the door is all that separates the public from the open floor. Random people were often let in by employees who did not know better or just did not care. At one point the server that hosted all of the primary customer's builds sat maybe 15 feet from the door! To top it off, the primary customer's computers which still had their product on it were being used to test and log bugs for a separate customer. I once overheard the manager laugh about "How annoying the security measures were at companies like Volt". - If you are already established in QA or Game Development, you will learn nothing from this job besides the dangers of trying to save a buck on your testing. - I have never seen such intense turnover or disgruntled employees. In the year I worked at Mobius QA, there was roughly 90% turnover. Often times people would just get up and leave, but not before sending out passive aggressive emails company wide. A morale committee was established (red flag right there) in hopes of raising the mood, but it turns out that occasional donuts and soda are not enough to fix morale if you are not paying enough or treating your employees with respect. Bottom line is that if you are seeking employment or QA for your product you should steer very clear of Mobius.

Pros

Mobius industries (Jeff B) was hands down the BEST employer and leader I have ever worked for. Amazing benefits. Genuinely cared about ALL employees.

Cons

KATMAI - once they took over everything went downhill , practically overnight. Katmai has zero Care for the employees or what happened to them. They only cared about the Government contract, which they lost.

Pros

Not all the eggs are bad. It is pretty much just the leadership.

Cons

Mobius corporate never gave much indication that it was interested in the affairs at our site. They let the government employees say out of the contractors who stayed, who didn't. We got a new bunch of HR reps - the HR reps were at least up front, they start off by telling us to our faces that they ultimately were concerned with issues of liability and any issues you had you needed to take up on your own. Awesome. Leads are given little to no management training. Most where I was are former junior enlisted Marines who have little to no formal leadership training to prepare them for life in a civilian job. As long as the contract money flows in, Mobius corporate doesn't really care.
