Pros
Working hours are often flexible, if you suck up to upper-level managers you can skate by on incompetence for a very long time before anybody notices or cares.
Cons
Low pay at all tiers, no performance reviews, never receive feedback from senior management unless it's negative, employees are treated like contractors and expected to provide and pay for all of their own tools and equipment when working remotely, no development or training is provided, no opportunities for advancement, and no job security. Projects can evaporate overnight and there is no support or assistance in securing other work. If you do your job well and work hard, your thanks will be more responsibility for the same pay.
