Pros

Good medical, free lunch, decent pay

Cons

For my entire time there, the company conducted layoffs every quarter. No project manager stayed on the team more than 3 months. The Seattle office is constantly being downsized, but they refuse to outright close it for some reason. Over a three month period we lost our CIO, VP, interim VP, and manager. That’s all the managers between us and the CEO. New VP came in and broke up team I helped build over 2 years. Impossible to maintain motivation in such a chaotic environment that obviously doesn’t care about workers.

Great work life balance. I worked with multiple different coworkers from different departments and learned a lot.

When it gets busy you have to make sure you stay on top of all the assignments

Pros

The science is promising. There are a large number of disease areas where the company is making or can make a real impact because of the flexibility of the mRNA platform.

Cons

Up through a high level, management and even entry level employees play self preservation games. They passionately brown nose and embrace certain initiatives while fully ignoring meticulous or unglamorous operational work which is still highly critical. These people then form a cartel and are promoted. If you care about such issues, you’ll have to manage way up to resolve them and will not be rewarded for it. No communication across departments due to turf wars. The outcome is that everyone is worse off.
