Pros

I was going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, I'm leaving 4 because I think Mokriya is better than most of the similar companies out there. Some of the pros: - Opportunitites to work with some of the most prominent companies in the world - Some of the projects are enjoyable and challenging - Flexible working hours and adequate payment - Calm working environment with friendly and interesting people

Cons

Administrative tasks can be a hassle - maintaining several email addresses, filing reports, tracking tasks in JIRA, contacting support and communicating with multiple people to resolve one issue. It's unclear how people are assigned to projects - you may find yourself starting on a new one in a week without much discussion of your skills and expected role. If you're lucky it could be a great project, if not - dullness and boredom for several months. There's lots of emphasis on how important it is to be proactive, but management rarely contacts you to ask how you're feeling in the company (unless they need something).

Pros

I have been with Mokriya for several years and find it an excellent place to work. The pay is good, the work is generally interesting, and I have had the opportunity to expand well beyond my initial skill set, developing into areas I had only passing familiarity with. Management is accommodating, considerate, and helpful. To summarize the pros: - Fully remote company - Flexible work hours - Stable work - Professional but laid back work environment - Room to expand well beyond your skill set and develop your capabilities - Friendly coworkers and management - Exposure to diverse cultures

Cons

Because Mokriya is a consulting firm, there is a wide variety of projects available, but this is a double-edged sword. Some projects can be boring or stressful or involve troublesome clients. This is more the exception than the rule. Communication at a remote company requires greater effort because coworkers are not in close proximity. This can create difficulty if not handled correctly and cause unnecessary confusion. We mostly handle this well at Mokriya, but it has been a pain point in some cases.

Pros

Mokriya has been an amazing company to work for—the projects are engaging (with both big and small clients), the culture is extremely trusting & autonomous, and the people supportive & unique. If you're new to remote work or have already been working remote for awhile, you should definitely consider a role here. As my first-time experience working remote, I learned a lot about myself and the aspects of successful remote working practices. The people from the CEO, developers, product managers, and designers are all extremely approachable and communication is as good as you make of it. In addition there are chances you can work with clients directly on-site or through workshops which is a good way to break the remote work mold and meet your co-workers or clients.

Cons

Communication can always be a challenge in working remote and it can be especially difficult managing several communication channels internally and external with clients. Time zones as well. You definitely need to be flexible here. Depending on the client and project, the work can span the course of a couple of months to over a year. It would be good to know the expected project duration prior to joining a specific project (if you have a choice that is). I was always a bit unsure about career growth.
