Pros
The firm has a great reputation within the legal community. The legal team is extremely talented and a pleasure to work with. The firm does a good job of keeping its staff informed of changes affecting the firm. The firm-sponsored staff activities were greatly appreciated because it allowed face-to-face time with members of all departments.
Cons
The firm does not contribute to staff retirement plans. Raises and bonuses for non-legal staff were lackluster. The expectations of non-legal staff are extremely demanding and unrealistic. Every time I tried to take a vacation or personal day, I was called to return to the office or work from home. During the interview process, I was told professional growth opportunities would be provided to staff but the three times I tried to attend a program over the course of several years with the firm, my requests were denied by my supervisor. The HR team needs to do a better job of investigating grievances filed by non-legal staff. There are a couple of members on non-legal teams whose management style are highly unethical and experience high turnover on their teams as a result.
