Pros

The bathrooms are amazingly clean (Schaumburg / Chicago locations). Not sure who they hire to do it, but they do an outstanding job. The CEO is great. He's done an outstanding job in his tenure and the stock has been growing constantly. Great and fair decisions made during the pandemic. Good starting PTO. Other benefits are average for a company this size. Free snacks if you can get in early enough to get them.

Cons

If you get an offer, make sure to negotiate. You may never see a pay raise. I'd regularly talk to people who hadn't received a raise in five or six years, and they thought that was normal. Motorola cares more about its shareholders than its people. There is no reason on earth to not reward employees when your stock is skyrocketing. They keep laying people off. The remaining people are often stuck doing things that they are not skilled to do. They're overworked and stressed because of it. MSI is excellent at suing their competitors and doing M&A. This is a very short-sighted business model and it will probably catch up to them within the next few years. Training is virtually non-existent. Because of the constant layoffs, people horde knowledge there. The new office format has everybody basically sitting on top of each other. Don't expect much space if you even get a desk.

Pros

I highly value the autonomy I am given to manage my own workload, and I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with several of my talented colleagues.

Cons

That independence comes at a cost. The company is incredibly disorganized and siloed. Management will force lateral moves on you without asking; I've ended up balancing four different roles with absolutely no pay increase. Requests for fair compensation compared to the peers I trained were completely ignored. Territories change constantly, but zero training is provided. You are essentially left entirely on your own to figure it out.
