      Pros

      I have worked at Motorola Solutions as a contractor for 15 years before flipping to a permanent role for the past 5 years. I have stayed here both because of the Motorola mission of Solving for Safer, and because it is a very progressive business where diversity, equity and inclusion is fully supported at all levels.

      Cons

      I don't see any downside in working for Motorola. I would not still be here after almost 20 years if there were. Don't get me wrong, there will always be challenges, as there are with any business, but that nurtures innovation, and innovation is the mainstay of any company.

      Pros

      I highly value the autonomy I am given to manage my own workload, and I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with several of my talented colleagues.

      Cons

      That independence comes at a cost. The company is incredibly disorganized and siloed. Management will force lateral moves on you without asking; I've ended up balancing four different roles with absolutely no pay increase. Requests for fair compensation compared to the peers I trained were completely ignored. Territories change constantly, but zero training is provided. You are essentially left entirely on your own to figure it out.
