Pros
I ran my site well, and was left to my own devices by my DM, as much as upper management and the investors would allow.
Cons
This company died in January of 2022. They touted themselves as the employee and customer-centric locally owned underdog looking to take on the multiple billionaire backed national chains that are sprouting up all over the region. They assembled a great team of managers, team members, and highly skilled maintenance workers. Then they blew it. The investors didn't like their ROI, so they cut employee benefits and bonuses. They still didn't like it, so they stopped fixing things. Maintenance got mad that they had to fight upper management for weeks to get approval to buy parts they needed to fix equipment, so they quit. Wash quality suffered and customers got mad and complained constantly. Good employees were refused raises and got sick of making excuses for the company, so they either left the industry, or went to competitors, who pay more. Managers, who are overworked, because they can't hire anyone of quality due to low wages, and are sick of getting dumped on constantly by people who seemingly have no idea how to run a business, started to quit. But those spreadsheets are looking good now. With the current clueless cast of characters at the top, their only hope to strike it rich now is to make enough waves in the local market that one of the billionaire backed national chains buy them as a real estate investment and shuts them down. It was sad to invest so much of myself into a company to see it turn out like this.
