Pros

Clear, detailed and informative Candidate Pack.

Cons

1. This company does not respond to general enquiries sent via email to their 'info@' address....does anyone even monitor the email address? 2. This company does not answer its main telephone line. 3. This company does not respond to voicemails left, asking for someone to call the back. 4. Very shoddy, unprofessional 1st impression of an organisation which would appear to not value enquiries/ communication. 5. This company retains its 'Christmas message' on automated emails 1 week on from returning after the Christmas break. 1st impressions are so important and it is such a shame that the Organisation is not all over this....so unprofessional and does not give off a professional impression at all.

Pros

Some nice people work here under a poor selfish leadership team.

Cons

The leadership team has lost sight of what it means to provide a quality service to young people. It wants the stories of the most vulnerable young people in order to gain funding but has drastically cut back on delivering to those same young people. Which shows they understand the needs of these young people but don't want to do the hard work that comes with it. You will be asked to share your thoughts and professional opinion. However if you point out issues that affect the running of the organisation, it will be used against you. If you are a non-white member of staff, keeping a low profile and being excellent at your job will not help you to progress. You will be expected to do extra but this will not be seen as going above and beyond or help you be promoted. If you are white (or non-white) member of staff and have any extra working needs to support your mental health disability or childcare etc, it will be hard for you to progress beyond your role, unless you are in the fundraising team and liked by leadership. Staff turnover is high and redundancies have happened 3 times in the space of 12 -15 months which has also targeted certain staff members.

Pros

Historically MyBnk was a great place to work - amazing people all motivated to support young people. The work is still interesting, there's lots of innovation and great stuff is still being done to support young people. There has also been some positive work to improve processes and increase efficiency.

Cons

Unfortunately, things have changed in the last year. There’s a huge drive to cut costs and push people to do more with less. Senior management no longer trust or respect other more junior members of staff and vice versa. Pay is nowhere near high enough, especially for certain roles and what people are expected to do. There are currently also very limited progression opportunities for more junior members of staff. In some cases, staff members are having to take on many extra responsibilites (due to other staff members being made redundant or leaving the organisation and not being replaced) with no pay rise or promotion on the cards. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend anyone joining the organisation at this point, despite the great work being done to support young people. There's currently a negative vibe and people are very unhappy.
