corporate politics wins. Leadership is old-school so new ideas gets shunned. Rather than making an impact, leadership is more focused on appeasing the board which is frustrating. You can definitely climb the corporate ladder if you play the game, but can get emotionally and mentally worn-out if you have a manager who is not a good leader and nit-picks everything you do.
