Very slack environment if you are able to keep your head low and coast by If you are lowly educated, enjoy being a yes man, and do not wish to achieve anything in your life while enjoying a lower than market rate salary, this is the perfect place for you
Cons
- You will literally have no direction. Upper management cannot make up their mind on anything and make sweeping company wide changes on their whims and facies. eg. the whole company has seen 4 major reorganizations in less than the last 1 year. people are moved around into roles they don't want under various different ROs - Horrible environment of distrust and ugly politics. Departments don't trust each other, there is lots of infighting, finger pointing and general uncooperativeness - While the fighting and politics is at director level, even executives are not protected, and are often times treated like children, being yelled at in meetings - They should receive an award in unproductivity, as one person controls all the decision making so hardly anything ever gets done. - learning curve is negligible, a monkey who has learnt to nod can take over your position. If you decide to voice your opinions or ideas, you are immediately viewed as a threat and transferred out to pointless menial roles. - It is no surprise with the people helming this organization, the pathetic state Downtown East is in. Unfortunate a place with so much potential is so disgustingly mismanaged - Terrible culture of cronyism, which is a massive stain on the NTUC brand. A lot of new high level positions (which are arguably unnecessary) are filled by upper management's friends and contacts, which truly begs the question, does NTUC practice what it preaches.
