Pros
Nao Now is a great company to work for, especially if you appreciate a close-knit team. Since it's a startup, the admin staff is collaborative, and you have the opportunity to pitch innovative ideas for process improvements. The CEO and management are very open to suggestions, and communication has never been a challenge for me. I also really like Nao Now’s curriculum and approach to teaching. Calling tutors "mentors" instead of "teachers" reinforces the idea that we are not just instructing students but also guiding them and serving as role models. This mindset helps mentors stay conscious of their actions and responsibilities. Additionally, evaluating other mentors has been a great learning experience, as I’ve gained valuable insights from fellow ESL teachers. The pay for mentors is also competitive.
Cons
Since this is a work-from-home setup, you need to be self-sufficient and manage your time well. If you often have last-minute engagements, this platform may not be ideal, as adherence to schedules is strict due to high parental expectations. Parents can be quick to raise concerns, which is why strict rules are in place to maintain quality and consistency. However, if you're fully committed and reliable with your attendance, you should have no issues. Overall, my experience with Nao Now has been very positive!
