Pros

Team culture was really good. People on the ground were genuine and really wanted to do well. Great for a first or second job. Learn fast, grow fast, move fast.

Cons

Very volatile management. CEO was frantic. Constant cycle of layoffs. Impending burnout.

Pros

You can quickly move up the ladder, managers take good care of their employees, there's not a rigid hierarchy, morale is amazing!

Cons

Things change quickly — but that's true of any media company. You have to stay on your toes! They do a good job of training us for new challenges.

Pros

Constant communication platform which is beneficial to a remote job. Writers who genuinely love to write the content they are researching. The Canada team is fairly on top of it compared to the US team. Great writing gig for someone fresh out of college. Not for you if you’re established.

Cons

The rules on what you can and cannot do are constantly changing, therefore leading to many instances where you do something wrong. Writers are usually lost because they hear about the changes last. The content they want and the content you end up writing doesn’t leave you fulfilled. Voices and opinions of the editors and writers aren’t heard by the upper management team. You will most likely be let go at a short notice, therefore leaving you very unemployed quick. There were very few people who gave positive or inspiring feedback. The ones that did aren't working for Narcity anymore. There is definitely a popularity contest here when trying to move up. The quality and time you put into your work apparently isn't enough. It’s low pay for the amount of time you end up investing in the company. They don’t cultivate a workplace environment of diversity and inclusion.
