      More than 10 years and still in startup mode...

      Pros

      Team culture was really good. People on the ground were genuine and really wanted to do well. Great for a first or second job. Learn fast, grow fast, move fast.

      Cons

      Very volatile management. CEO was frantic. Constant cycle of layoffs. Impending burnout.

      WFH (work-life balance was nice) Decent benefits Great way to make contacts

      Cons

      Incompetent CEO Toxic managers (Narcity Quebec, especially — people quit/required sick leave due to stress caused by the managing editor) Poor salary (paid far too little for the workload) Zero growth Excessive layoffs (I survived 5 rounds of layoffs before finally deciding it was enough and left)

      This is not the place to build a career, the company has frequent layoffs and is constantly changing direction. However, it's a good place to learn new skills and make contacts.
