Pros
Hybrid work, free lunch friday
Cons
I was hired as a contractor, and throughout the whole process everytime me or any of my classmates asked about being hired on full time, we were lead to believe we would more than likely get hired on after 6 months. Fast forward 5 months, my supervisor had a one on one with me and let me know there are no billets so they will be extending my contract another 6 months. Navy Federal’s business practices when it comes to how they treat their employees is abysmal. You guys are messing with peoples’ lives and it should be illegal the way you mislead hopeful contractors (which is basically all new hires) into thinking they will get a permanent spot to then just break the news right before the end of the contract that you’re going to extend the contract. Navy Fed has it figured out, why pay the employees more and offer benefits, when they have an infinite supply of contractors who they dangle carrots in front of, that can do the exact same job at a fraction of the cost. This company is a joke and I’m actively searching for another job. Also, “supervisors” and the people on the “assist” line will talk down to you and belittle you if you ask questions even if you’re brand new, they will act annoyed and bothered if you ask questions so I stopped asking for help. That’s all good riddance.
