There is no meaningful technical assessment during recruitment, which leads to a mismatch between the company’s “tech consultancy” branding and actual technical capability.
Many mid-level “managers” have only a few years of experience post-university and lack real industry or technical expertise. Management roles are often closer to sales or account management than genuine technical consulting. The company methodology is treated as dogma and repeated without critical thinking, limiting innovation and real problem-solving. More experienced and technically knowledgeable consultants are frequently undermined or overruled by less experienced managers, negatively impacting morale and delivery quality. The lack of experienced technical leadership at mid-level is damaging team wellbeing, culture, and long-term credibility as a consultancy.
