Pros

HR is the only department up to a certain standard.

Cons

Developers all think they are gods. They think that most of them are graduates from UofT or Waterloo, so they must be better than anyone. They think they are even bette than those worldwide acclaimed developers and book authors. They think that they are from UofT or Waterloo, so they must be good at everything, including finance, investment, graphic design, management... everything you can name.

NexJ Health Response

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to respond and clarify any misunderstandings. We hold development to high standards at NexJ Health, to build a feature-rich, performant and secured platform for our users. In addition to relying on our in-house experience and domain expertise, we embrace a culture of lifelong learning. Our company bookshelves are filled with books from world leaders in technology and healthcare. We encourage everyone to learn from both internal and external resources, share their knowledge with the teams and contribute to better our product. We are sorry to learn that you did not have the same experience. At work, the development team focuses on our craft: we strive to master the art of creating quality code and devising elegant solutions. We do not proclaim to be experts in unrelated fields; in fact, in our everyday work and personal interactions, topics such as finance or investments hardly ever come up. Our passions are healthcare transformations, beautiful code and friendly, team-building board games. Again, we are truly sorry that you had a different impression.

Pros

The only pro was my manager was relatively nice to me and supported me, as well as my co-workers.

Cons

Executive team cares more about themselves than about anything. Never willing to take the blame on mistakes they made. The founder is an egotistical multi-millionaire that made the company in hopes to make himself look good but really should have left the company in the hands of the employees. His constant need to shout and yell at everyone makes the environment so toxic and everyone is afraid to make even the smallest of mistakes in fear of him. This company will fire 5 people at a time and then divide their responsibilities amongst those that are left and get upset that the job is not being done the same, while also not increasing pay.

Pros

I was there as a student intern for a few months on the clinical team. Overall the company feels very collaborative, and everyone was very supportive. They have weekly fitbit fitness challenges which was fun to participate in.

Cons

It's a mid-size company, so there's limited upward mobility.
