Pros

Stability Nature of work Location Casual atmosphere Benefits

Cons

Extremely low employee morale Cliques & favoritism are rampant Unprofessional & immature work environment This review is for the production department in particular. I can't speak for other departments. It's run by a tight-knit group who've been with the company since it formed in the 00's. They are the "clique" (aside from the stylists which come with their own headaches). They will go the extra mile to let you know this department is their world and anything they say goes. I'm a very amicable person and thought I'd do fine. But when they discovered I wasn't willing to kiss ass or pander to their egos, the jig was up. It wasn't long before they found a whole slew of dubious charges to write me up on. Their way of the sharpening the ax, I suppose. If you are the Machiavellian type who excels in this sort of environment, you'll do just fine. However, most of the new employees I worked with walked around on eggshells and were scared of their own shadow. You really have to jump through hoops... of fire. Beware.

Pros

Decent base pay, somewhat autonomous, great tip potential.

Cons

The company has changed for the worse since COVID. When I came back the mood of the entire store had shifted. Gone were the days of comradery, customer focus, and taking pride in a job well done. In its place there is a new culture of cutthroat sales, a severe decline in customer focus, and worst of all a new focus on profit over customer satisfaction. When I was told that the amount the store charged for a shoe shine was not enough to do the best job I could for a customer I knew things had gone downhill for the company. Not to mention I watch a manager prey on a mentally disabled person in order to secure a sale, when the person could not understand what was being offered. Sad that such a once great company is now just another greed ridden corporation.
