Pros

The Basel campus is an excellent place to work: on-site gym, several restaurants (although all are pricey), and interesting architecture and art.

Cons

Since Novartis has sold off several divisions and undergone some changes in finance processes, there aren't a lot of opportunities for professional growth. Competition for jobs is intense, so look elsewhere if you're trying to move up the ladder. Also, if you are a woman with children in Switzerland, be aware that there is a strong cultural bias against hiring women for jobs that are perceived to require a high level of commitment.
