Pros
Novotech can be a good entry point into clinical research, offering exposure to different projects and some flexibility that helps with work–life balance.
Cons
Novotech falls short in several important areas. At first glance, the company may look promising, but the challenges quickly become apparent once inside. Compensation, particularly for CRAs, is at the lower end of industry standards. This makes it difficult to attract and retain top talent. Career progression opportunities are limited and often appear to depend more on personal favour with leadership than on performance or merit. The workplace culture, shaped from the top down, often leaves employees feeling like replaceable parts rather than valued contributors. While our work in research is meaningful, it’s hard to feel that our impact is recognized. Many employees also feel their input is overlooked, which contributes to frustration and disengagement. For those early in their careers, Novotech can provide a learning experience and an entry point into the industry. However, turnover is telling; approximately one-third of employees leave within their first year. Bottom line: A place where you may gain initial experience, but long-term career growth and satisfaction are unlikely.
