Decent benefits overshadowed by toxic work environment - Customer Service Representative Nutrafol Employee Review

Pros

Decent benefits and WFH stipend

Cons

This company's HR department (in combination with senior leadership) is a lawsuit waiting to happen with how reactionary they are toward employees before properly investigating claims within the parameters of state and federal laws. When they are challenged with authentic rebuttals to their inappropriate (and arguably illegal) behavior, they take zero accountability and desperately try to bail themselves out of the corner they put themselves in with their retaliatory actions. The customer support job is also a bait-and-switch call center job, and you will be micromanaged and intimidated by middle management for every second you are clocked in. You'll have to literally explain to your supervisor that you are a human who has to use the restroom when they admonish you for taking 3 minutes away from your desk.

Pros

Strong brand, talented employees, and good products. There are many hardworking people across the organization who genuinely want to succeed and support one another.

Cons

As someone new to the team, it did not take long to understand why turnover within my role was such a recurring topic. The challenges were not related to the work itself, but rather the leadership environment within the retail organization. There was frequent discussion about culture, transparency, and eliminating toxicity, yet the day-to-day experience often felt disconnected from those values. Internal politics, favoritism, and divisive leadership behaviors created an environment where employees seemed hesitant to speak openly. What stood out most was that despite repeated turnover and similar concerns being raised, there never appeared to be meaningful accountability or examination of the root causes. After a short time, it became easy to understand why so many people before me had chosen to leave.
