Pros

It was a good place for an entry-level hire with little professional exposure to come in and learn the basics of project and account management. The role also exposes AMs to a range of services (i.e. translation, print production, copywriting / proofreading etc.), which, while not exactly the most glamorous of subject matter, can help build a strong background of service-based experience. The teams are largely patient, friendly and inclusive.

Cons

Unfortunately, the core deliverables (read: menus) and client base (airlines) make for a stagnant business that is far from progressive on any front. They're effectively a dinosaur of a company that is struggling to modernize. The organization is very flat, with little to no room for growth, and the pay structure was abysmal during my tenure. They're the definition of a mid-market company with (I'd imagine) little to no growth YoY.

Pros

Stable, dominant company in Airline menu translation

Cons

- Doesn't care about quality of production (inaccuracy, inconsistency -> ignored) - Project manager have very little knowledge and experience - Ultra low pay They got rid of an inhouse translator and replaced with multiple freelancers. (it was clear that the intention was cutting cost) We were explained that they'll send us materials and complete translations within 2-3 days. But it turnded out that the project manger expected me to be at desk 24/7 and be ready for him. They were paying very little money for translation/editing and I was under no contract to allocate all my hours for them. If the urgent requests happened once in a blue moon, I'd have been happy to cooporate as much as I could. However, this company just don't know how to plan ahead and do time management. I believe the project manager is not a bad person, but just inexperienced without any knowledge on the language I was providing. After explaning the same things over and over (and I was not getting paid a dime for teaching him), I realized that this company doesn't care the quality of translations at all and I was wasting my time.
