Pros

None really....oh wait great if you fit into a clique...and can't coach or mentor the people below you!!

Cons

Pay - Terrible Office Politics - ridiculous Just a big office full of entry level employees working on old computers typing menus for airlines that are quickly giving up on serving food!!

No room for growth

Pros

Intelligent people who can usually write well, small office, friendly atmosphere, big clients. People from all over the world work there, you will hear many different languages spoken through the day.

Cons

There really isn't much room for growth. You will probably continue to do the same job for the next 20 years, unless your manager leaves or dies, then you may get their job, but the person who was there for 10 years before you probably will instead, even if they are less talented and apt for the position than you. VERY low pay, even for the publishing industry.

Good People. Bad Company.

Pros

It was a good place for an entry-level hire with little professional exposure to come in and learn the basics of project and account management. The role also exposes AMs to a range of services (i.e. translation, print production, copywriting / proofreading etc.), which, while not exactly the most glamorous of subject matter, can help build a strong background of service-based experience. The teams are largely patient, friendly and inclusive.

Cons

Unfortunately, the core deliverables (read: menus) and client base (airlines) make for a stagnant business that is far from progressive on any front. They're effectively a dinosaur of a company that is struggling to modernize. The organization is very flat, with little to no room for growth, and the pay structure was abysmal during my tenure. They're the definition of a mid-market company with (I'd imagine) little to no growth YoY.
