Pros

They have a competitive set of products and compete in a large and fast growing market. They have a large international presence, so if you want to work in Vietnam, Hungary, Romania, Northern Ireland, or Israel (or with a team located there) you will have that opportunity. If you are currently not working and looking for an individual contributor job in engineering, product management, or customer success the company is worth considering.

Cons

The company leadership style is Autocratic / Authoritarian - which can be ok depending on what type of culture you are looking for. If you are looking for a job where you will be told what to do, when to do it, and how to do it - this could be a good fit. If not, it probably won't be a good fit. The HR philosophy is Hire Slow, Fire Fast. While taking corrective action on a bad hire is necessary, the company has a history of spending several months recruiting for positions and then firing the person after only a couple of weeks on the job. Jobs in sales, marketing, and business ops are particularly challenging here. If you currently have a job, think twice before leaving it to work here. Be careful not to over-rely on the recent company reviews with positive comments - these short reviews are often from companies requesting employees write them - find contacts on LinkedIn who used to work there and ask them to share their experience as part of your due diligence process.

Pros

In my 8 months of interning at OPSWAT, the work culture stood out like no other. From the first day I was greeted and welcomed by several people around the office. I always looked forward to team/office lunches and playing ping pong with my peers. I was also able to take on important projects and regularly meet with customers and prospects. Lastly, everyone wants you to succeed, and as an intern everyone is willing to help you grow. I have learned so much throughout my two sessions as a Product Manager Intern. I would recommend this position and OPSWAT to anyone as it is a great place to work.

Cons

I have no cons at all.

Pros

• Dedicated employees who are committed to the company’s success. • Opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work and make a visible impact. • Exposure to a growing cybersecurity company with a global presence. • Employees are trusted with significant responsibility and autonomy.

Cons

• Environment is heavily influenced by the CEO’s leadership style, which may not be a fit for everyone. It can be really intense. • Employees may be reluctant to raise concerns or challenge leaders out of fear. • PTO and holiday benefits are less competitive than those offered by many similarly sized companies. The limited amount of time off can make it challenging for employees to recharge and maintain long-term work-life balance.
