Pros
- Relaxed work environment and balance - WFH culture - Decent work benefits including flex pay which allows you to allocate your benefit budget to your salary instead (an additional 9% of your base salary)
Cons
- The nature of the business means profit margins are thin, since energy prices charged to customers are capped, so the only way the business can generate money is to make their operation costs leaner - Lack of career growth (no pay rises or promotion opportunities in 2 years, and management have said they cannot guarantee when this will resume) - Company seems to be going through financial turmoil (there was no bonus pay this year and we've had waves of redundancies) - A lot of meetings (not ideal if you're a SWE who just wants to get on with work) - Work can get repetitive, which is detrimental to growth as a software engineer - A lot of senior engineers have left / are leaving and are not being replaced
