Firstly, don’t believe the recent positive reviews on here. They have been written by head office as a way of boosting their score and to take away the bad press. Pathetic.
Where do I begin?! The shelves are mostly empty with no sign of any stock coming in because the company has no money to spend on lines. We get asked by customers on a daily basis “Are you closing down?” which is embarrassing. Even the stock we do have is so overpriced and cheaper elsewhere.
No marketing is down at all because that costs money. As a result very few customers come into the store which prompts a phone call from your area manager complaining that your daily sales are down. Go figure!
The area managers themselves are rude and totally unhelpful. Visiting the store in a cheap suit and complaining that everything looks terrible is not the best help you can get when the store is so understaffed, and the staff that are there are working 50+ hours but only getting paid for 39.
Three genuine instances of sickness in a year result in a disciplinary, by where you are told if you have one more in the next 12 months you will be fired. Surely that is illegal.
Management is obsessed with KPIs and mystery shopping. They genuinely believe that this is what will get customers back into the store.
From the top to the very bottom this company is rotten to it’s very core. I feel sorry for the associates and staff at store level who have to put up with so much rubbish from those above them.
